Annual skateboard videos…Happy New Year!!!

Thursday, January 1, 2009 by SK8NE1

It seems like every year we try to capture the skateboard skills we’ve learned over the year into a single annual skate video. This year we thought it would be fun to show two videos created nearly 3 years apart. The first video shows Alejandro skating in late December 2006 at the Greenwood Village Skate Park.

For this year’s annual 2009 video we decided to mix it up a bit and have some skateboard video footage from Greenwood Village, Redstone in Highlands Ranch and Castle Rock, Colorado. Enjoy and please let us know what you think. Happy New Year!

We’ve updated the SK8NE1 web site!

Wednesday, October 1, 2008 by SK8NE1

Recently, we implemented a new “look and feel” for the SK8NE1 web site. No, we didn’t do a lot of research and no, it isn’t a drastic improvement. It is, easier to use and it does, allow us to manage the content more efficiently. Also, we updated our pictures; afterall, we aren’t little kids anymore!

SK8NE1 web site "look and feel" as implemented on 10/01/08

Here’s what we did: We created three specific content areas. 1.) Our skateboard blog is used to chronologically document our activies and give our friends the opportunity to participate in the discussions. 2.) From now on we’ll be using our new YouTube channel to deliver videos. 3.) We decided to periodically archive all the old image and video files to a media repository to keep things fresh and up-to-date. Finally, we added a feedback link to give you the ability to eMail us your thoughts.

Low cost skateboard ramps can go a long long way

Sunday, August 17, 2008 by Alejandro

When I was six my dad purchased a beginner skateboard ramp at Target for my birthday. He said it cost $19.95 and was the best present he ever bought me. It’s funny how 6 years later I still have it and enjoy doing tricks with it on our driveway. My brother and I spray painted it last year and it now looks like it is on it’s last leg, but this ramp goes way back with me and I may never be able to let it go.

My firstskate ramp

Last Christmas, I got more skateboard ramps and a grind rail. I believe that this time the cost was $89.00 and he (Santa Claus) purchased it at Sam’s Club. The new ramps have helped a lot since I can set them up in different configurations. My street tricks have never been that good because most of the time my dad takes us to the concrete skate parks around town and I just like skating vert, but these low cost ramps have gone a long way in helping me develop some street skills when he is traveling or playing tennis.

Faky Air 180 or Fakie Air 180?

Tuesday, July 1, 2008 by SK8NE1

Over the years, I’ve picked up the names of different skate tricks from the people at the various skate parks, but I’m not always entirely sure how to spell them or if the trick names used amongst skateboarders are consistent. My observation is that most people do use similar names, but there appears to be local slang and different vernacular used from park to park. So here’s a picture of my latest Faky Air 180, or is it Fakie Air 180?

Just in case you are wondering….I landed it!

Monday, June 16, 2008 by Alejandro

Sk8ne1 is making a skate park. It won’t be really big. Just a couple quarter pipes, a spine, half pipe, maybe a pool, and a hip. If you are interested, just contact us. Right now, all we have finished is a half pipe.

We’ve been working on the fakie air 180. Last year Nate was getting some great air on his, but we have not seen him around Greenwood much this year. So what’s the scoop?

Spring Skating 2008

Thursday, May 15, 2008 by SK8NE1

We’ve both been busy skating this Spring. As always, we really really like the Greenwood Village skatepark, but more and more our dad is taking us up to Woodward. It’s in the Colorado Mills Mall and we have to admit it is a lot of fun to skate on the wood there. The skaters there are really good too. There’s one kid named Phil that is signed with DC and skates for Element and he is only 12. My dad made friends with his dad (Ken) and they are talking a lot about the skateboard circuit and how to get skateboard reps to see our videos.

We’re now starting to plan some summer skateboard trips too. I think we’re gonna go to Vegas again, but my dad said we might go down to the Grand Canyon and skate Trinidad, Santa Fe, Albuquerque and Phoenix. It sounds like a lot of fun and I’m sure there will be a lot of places to park the RV. We’ll let you know more as it comes together and maybe we can get together and play SKATE at one of the parks.
